Courtney + Chris Married at Camarillo Ranch

Courtney and Chris tied the knot last Friday at Camarillo Ranch! The weather could not have been better and the day couldn’t have been more fun. When I first spoke to Courtney and Chris they told me from the very start that they wanted a down to earth, fun and informal wedding with a cocktail hour vibe that lasted the whole day. Having been one to experience the event they put on I have to say they killed it in achieving their goal! They opted for a first look and most of their photos before the ceremony to enjoy as much time as they could during cocktail hour with guests. It was even a fun little bit of motivation for us all to stay on track with timing before the ceremony, and even though we had a big group of about 20 in their wedding party everyone was so awesome and made it easy to get photos done! I mean, with cocktail hour being a motivation who can argue with that?!
Courtney and Chris started the day at the Hyatt Regency Westlake with their wedding party. Courtney wore a simple and sleek, fitted lace dress from Lulu’s and had the back customized (how genius is that?!). It looked so good on her and fit the vibe she wanted perfectly! Chris dressed in a navy blue suit to offset the gentlemen in their wedding party wearing gray, and all of them wore burgundy ties. Their colors were burgundy and navy, so the ladies wore floor-length dresses alternating navy and burgundy.

When we arrived to the wedding venue we started off with the most exciting event of all–the first look! As Counrtey was walking up to Chris’ back before he turned to see her, she whispered to me and asked if we could get a photo of her hugging him from behind before he turned. It turned out being one of my favorite photos!! Doesn’t she have beautiful eyes?!

We got so many great bride and groom portraits of them before the ceremony and then wrapped up with wedding party and family photos before the guests arrived.

Then it was time to tuck them away for the ceremony!!

The ceremony was short and sweet but oh so significant. Their close friend and Chris’ best man officiated their wedding and started it off taking full credit for their relationship. Apparently, he was the one to introduce them at his Halloween party! Story has it, Chris saw a photo of Courtney before she arrived and asked about her, and once she walked into the house she couldn’t take her eyes off Chris. They chose to stay in for tea and talk all night long while everyone else went out trick-or-treating and the rest is history. The ceremony was so well done and I always love it when friends are such a significant part of the wedding!

Officially husband and wife(!) they went off to cocktail hour with their favorite people!

We snuck away for some sunset photos just before the reception started and got some extra fun photos in. I always love the different chemistry that comes out of pictures after the ceremony!

The reception was held inside the famous red barn at Camarillo Ranch. Sticking to their simple and informal vibe, Courtney and Chris mixed farm tables and rounds with touches of baby’s breath and red roses. They capped the long row of farm tables with a gorgeous lounge setup and it may have been my favorite piece of the whole day!

They entered the reception and celebrated with friends and family, enjoyed a casual dinner with food trucks, heartfelt and humorous speeches, mingling and dancing all night! It was a blast gallivanting around with my camera capturing all of the fun that guests had with these two, and I’m so happy I got to be a part of it with them! Thanks to Courtney and Chris again for having me on your special day!!

Shoutout to the vendor team that made it all possible!
