Secluded Garden Estates Temecula Wedding – Gema + Logan

Logan and Gema were married over this past weekend at Secluded Garden Estates. Their venue was covered in oak trees and tucked away in the hills, which made for perfect lighting, and I was spoiled for the third time this month with floral design to photograph by Carla Kayes. What’s so crazy is that I was in Logan’s third-grade class, and we never really spoke back then or even became Facebook friends as adults like many people do with old school classmates, but I did run into him working at Starbucks during college when I came home from San Francisco years ago. It just so happened that his future wife would meet him at that very Starbucks!

During their wedding ceremony, Pastor John told the story about their first date. Logan was interested in Gema but she was at a point in her life where she really didn’t want a relationship, so Logan persisted and kept asking her to just “hang out.” One night he wanted to go to the movies with her, and agreeing to go only as friends, she recommended Thor–the furthest thing from a romantic or date night movie she could think of. Ironically, Logan ended up thinking she was even cooler to suggest such a movie, so it didn’t help Gema keep him in the friend zone! Fast-forward to October 27, 2017, and they stood under a ceremony arch covered in florals and surrounded by the ones they love to exchange vows.

When Gema and I first met at their engagement session I instantly had an adoration for her! She is so kind, selfless, and thoughtful. She is such an easygoing person and always puts people over superficial things. She is such a beautiful young woman too and the three of us had so much fun doing their engagement session, so it was no surprise when she looked this stunning getting dressed up for her wedding!

Logan and Gema actually didn’t find me through our distant connection through elementary school. Logan’s mom Katherine happens to be one of Carla Kaye’s best friends, and Carla is one of my good friends too! Gema, Logan, his mom, and his sister have all helped Carla with wedding days in the past, and Logan and Lakyn were even at my wedding when I got married! When Logan and Gema got engaged, their mom Katherine asked Carla for recommendations and that’s how they got connected to me. Small world, right?!

Of course, Carla had to do the florals for these two. She has known Logan’s family for years and loves them so much. It was no surprise that the flowers would be stunning, but when I walked up to see this ceremony with the drapery covering the altar, I literally exclaimed in excitement so muc that the groomsmen chuckled at me! How pretty is this?! Not to mention, it diffused the harsh light onto the florals and made it so much easier to photograph this stunning setup!

When it was time for the ceremony to start, Logan walked into place with all of his best guy friends and Gema came down the grand stairway made of stone. They chose not to do a first look, and Logan was so excited to unveil her at the altar. Gema’s brother walked her down the stairs, places the blusher over her face, and brought her up to Logan. He was so evidently in awe of her beauty, as was everyone else. Such a sweet moment to watch!

And they’re married!!!! We went out for photos in the trees, and meanwhile this beauty awaited the guests!

Everyone ate, danced, and celebrated under these twinkle lights with Gema and Logan, and it was a magical night. Thank you both for entrusting me to photograph your day!! It was such a blessing to be a part of your wedding and I wish you two the best in this exciting season as newlyweds!!
