Temecula Creek Inn – Lauren + Randy at Stone Meadows
Lauren and Randy were married at one of Temecula Creek Inn’s gorgeous wedding sites, The Meadows. It sits atop the property and gets the prettiest afternoon glow as the sun sweeps across the sky throughout the day, which is just the best for photos!
Lauren was first introduced to me through her wedding coordinator Taylor Callahan of Love and Laughter Events, and it always means the world to me when a wedding planner trusts me enough to care for their clients. This referral was even more special, because Taylor was one of my first #JennaJosephBrides when I moved back to Southern California from San Francisco in 2011. I have such fond memories of working Taylor and Dustin’s wedding, so much so, that when I sit down and think about what an ideal bride would be to work with, Taylor is always one who pops into my mind. She is kind and sweet, organized and detail oriented, she was excited about the details of the wedding, but she was even more excited about marrying her husband and that was all that really mattered to her. Not to mention, they had the most amazing families that I will never forget! When I heard last year that she joined the Love and Laughter Events team, I was over the moon excited to have the opportunity to see her more often and build a new kind of relationship as fellow vendors! We quickly scheduled a coffee date and got to know more about each other’s businesses and how we could mutually support one another. It wasn’t long before Lauren called me and said that Taylor sent her my way, and it was no surprise to learn that Lauren and Randy had so many similar qualities that I love working with – kind, caring, excited about the details, but most of all, family oriented and a dream to work with! They show such a selfless and genuine love, and it shines through all of their images, especially the way Randy melts when he looks at his bride, and I just can’t get over how sweet he is to her!
When our photography team arrived, we started off capturing details as usual and then Lauren and Randy exchanged gifts from one another. What happened next was a total surprise to all of us! Lauren and Randy got each other the same thing… RayBan sunglasses! The look of surprise on Lauren’s face when she opened them was priceless!! They also wrote each other letters, and Randy’s made Lauren bawl her eyes out. He told her to read the letter before she put makeup on, and she was thankful he did. Even reading the letter another time when she opened her gift for photos, she teared up again! She read a few words out loud and I even got chills on my arm. It was the sweetest!
The rain tried to come in and scare us later on as the ceremony was about to start, but we were blessed with just a couple momentary drops (not even a sprinkle!) and it was dry for the rest of the evening. We ended up having better weather than expected, because the clouds that rolled in gave us the softest and prettiest light all day, and it even cooled down what should have been an excessively hot day. We were all thrilled for that!
As the ceremony got started, Randy followed Reverend Christopher down the aisle, and he stopped at the front row to place a rose in their parents hands, a representation of grandparents that have passed. The wedding party all took their turns walking down the aisle, and then it was time for Randy to see Lauren for the first time that day. As she came walking down the aisle, the best man leaned over and whispered just loud enough for me to hear, “Are you going to cry?” Randy whispered back, “I’m trying not to…” with the biggest smile on his face. As I turned from capturing his expression to capturing Lauren coming down the aisle with her dad, I noticed she couldn’t hold back the the tears as she approached her groom. They shared the most beautiful vows I’ll never forget!
I think my favorite memory of the day was the speech given by the father of the bride. After sharing about stories of commitment by couples sitting around them all at dinner, he closed off with this incredible quote:
“The first to apologize is the bravest. The first to forgive is the strongest. And the first to forget is the happiest.” – Unknown
Lauren and Randy, thank you for not only trusting me to capture your special day, but also for you and your whole family who were nothing but kind and wonderful to work with! I adored you all and hope I get to stay in touch!!
