Joshua Tree Engagement Session – Lindsey + Jullian
I got all sappy when I first posted an Instagram sneak peek of Lindsey and Jullian’s engagement session, and as I sit here writing their blog post I have a feeling this will be no different. I think one of my favorite things about their love story is that I got to watch it from the beginning! I met Lindsey through church when she was leading worship as a volunteer in high school where my husband helped out. I started leading small groups in the high school ministry at church when Lindsey was maybe a junior and then during winter and summer high school camps I got to be her cabin leader!
And then one summer camp Jullian showed up.
Jullian was the new kid, and, with his guitar in hand a smile everywhere he went, he quickly made friends. Before we knew it, Lindsey and Jullian were inseparable. Jullian started playing worship alongside my husband (boyfriend, then fiancé at the time), and when he graduated he eventually took over leading worship for Justin. So not only do I have a deep sisterly love for this sweet bride-to-be, but my husband also loves these two like family! When they asked me to photograph their wedding I about sobbed my little eyes out with the happiest of tears.
Lindsey and Jullian are going for the natural and neutral tones for their wedding with lots of eucalyptus, white florals, greenery, and soft earthy tones in their attire. They adored Stephanie + Brian’s Joshua Tree engagement that I shot here last year, so they decided to take advantage of the desert vibes, too! I think they pulled off their own unique look flawlessly by bringing in the denim, cute hat, subtle blacks, and of course, that Taylor guitar!
These two are getting married in Temecula Wine Country next May, and I can’t wait for a reunion of all of our favorite Rancho friends coming together to celebrate their covenant of lifelong love! Until then, you’ll just have to follow along my Instagram, as I’m sure to fill my feed with more of these sweet memories from our time in Joshua Tree.
[…] If you follow along any of my blogging or social media posts, you already know these two are dear friends of ours. Justin and I have known Lindsey and Jullian since they were in high school and have watched them grow up from sweet kids to amazing young adults, and we are not only so proud of who they are becoming but also that they’ve chosen to join their lives together. They are such an amazing example of love, not just that romantic feeling that comes and goes, but the kind of love that works hard despite feelings, is selfless and sacrificial, and perseveres through all things. Gosh I’m starting to tear up as I write this all over again just like I did when I blogged their engagement session! If you want to read more about these two, their story, and how Justin, my husband, and I know them, you can check out their blog post here! […]
