Yesterday I talked about my blog re-launch and got a little vulnerable while sharing why I took an intentional step away from posting for a bit (see that post here). I mentioned some new goals I have for the new year, and with that, I announced I’ve hired someone to help me working behind the scenes! I’m so excited to introduce you to her today here on the blog.
Meet Shari, my friends!
Shari will be attending most of my weddings with me as my photography team coordinator. She will be the backbone of our team, helping us stay on time, assisting me in caring for the bride and groom, and even starting photo back-ups on site! She’ll also be doing some admin work from home to help me get wedding photos edited more quickly and keeping the blog running consistently. She’s already proved herself to be such a huge asset to my company, and I’m thrilled to share the next wedding season together! Take a quick moment to get to know Shari through our interview below.

Tell everyone about yourself! What are your favorite non-work related things you like to do? What are you passionate about?
“I really enjoy “doing” things, so adventures and experiences are some of my favorite things. I’m naturally drawn to being outdoors and exploring different places with my husband. Often times, I can be found on my yoga mat attempting to “center” myself or tucked away in a library or bookstore reading to my heart’s content. (Literally… I could spend hours sipping on a latte & turning the pages of a good book!)”
What are a couple of your top bucket-list items?
“Being open to trying new things that are outside of my box, and of course, I can’t leave out traveling.”
What about photography drew you in, and what do you love most about it?
“My grandfather had a room in his house completely lined from floor to ceiling with cameras and lenses from every era imaginable. If there was anything this man was passionate about, it was his collection of cameras and lenses. He knew the in’s and out’s of every model in that room. I remember walking in utterly fascinated with what I just stumbled upon, and that’s when I was handed my first camera. Through the gift of a camera, that passion was instilled upon me and I’ve grown to love the art (and science for that matter) of photography. Life to often passes by with moments that we want to remember and I love that photography gives us the ability to “freeze” time and preserve moments that would otherwise be lost in time. Mary Marantz quoted it best, ‘Life goes on and this moment is gone, and that moment is gone. But photography steps in and says, not this one. This moment stays.'”
Where do you hope to be in five years?
“I’m a natural creative soul with an overall calming presence. I also have an analytical side to me, so I enjoy crunching numbers and creating organized workflows and systems (I’d like to think that I’m equally left/right brained, haha!). With that said, a dream of mine has been to turn my passion of photography into a reality of owning a business to better serve my clients on a professional level, and to tell their stories of love and traditions through my lens. As time progresses, my hope is to establish roots here in California with my husband and continuing to grow with my community of creatives, photography and business.”
Why did you decide you wanted to work with Jenna Joseph Photography?
“I saw the passion that Jenna has for the community that surrounds and supports her business and the passion to inspire others through leadership and education. These are many qualities that I feel are incredibly important to encompass, especially as business owners and as leaders. Jenna provided an incredible opportunity to learn and grow and I saw that this was more than an opportunity to work in the photography industry. It was an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than myself and help another creative work on reaching her goals.”
