Secluded Garden Estates Wedding – Hannah + Erik Married!
Hannah and Erik met ten years ago in high school. They shared a class, and Hannah was so irritated that this boy kept staring at her in school. Eventually, Erik asked her out and she agreed, that is, until she stood him up. After much pursuing, Erik finally stole Hannah’s heart, and it was worth every ounce of effort. He became her best friend, and it wasn’t long before everyone (both friends + family) saw them as one, inseparable item. Hannah’s dad and brother bounced between the protective males in her life and loving fishing trips with Erik. Deep down, they loved him, and they knew he was going to be a part of the family one day.
Last Saturday was that day.
Hannah has an obsession with the color green and those pretty succulents, because, they’re the best green! She and Erik love the outdoors, and Secluded Garden Estates felt like the perfect place for them to celebrate their lives officially coming together as one. It’s easily one of my favorite wedding venues to shoot at in Temecula. Their unique ceremony site decorated with wood framing that sits atop a hill with a view of the canyons is incredible, to say the least. There are so many beautiful trees, rocks, and areas of lush greenery. There’s also a ton of shade and pretty light, which equates to photographer-heaven! Needless to say, when Hannah’s mom first emailed me and included in her note that she’d be getting married to Erik here, I jumped for joy!
Hannah wore a classic, strapless, white lace dress from Bella Posa Bridal. When I showed up, the first think I noticed was how pretty the white she chose was! The detailing was intricate and the white was more like a soft-ivory, cream, which always photographs so perfectly. Great choice, Hannah!
She wore her mom’s veil from her wedding day, and it was so sweet seeing her put that in her hair as the final touch of her bridal look that morning. Hannah slipped on her shoes, and we went out the door and into the forest for photos with her favorite ladies.
Hannah wanted to wait until the aisle to see Erik, but she loved the idea of a first look with her dad. It was probably the best dad-first-looks I’ve ever seen! Randy got so choked up the first time he laid eyes on his (not-so) little girl as he realized she was becoming a wife that day. After seeing her dad’s reaction, Hannah had to try so hard to hold back her tears, too!
Meanwhile, Erik and his guys got ready in the Groom’s Room! He chose his two brothers and his new-brother to-be to stand by his side during the ceremony and share the day with him. They enjoyed a mellow morning together and then arrived to get ready for the big day!
The day flew by quickly, and before we knew it, it was time to get Hannah and Erik married!
Hannah made her grand entrance by walking down the long pathway of stairs into the ceremony site, and Erik had so much joy on his face as she got closer and closer.
I love this one of Erik and Hannah! The way he looks at her in this photo makes me melt, and I’m pretty sure it makes Hannah melt too. It’s clear he adores her, and that’s what every girl deserves in a husband. You guys are just too cute.
We finished up photos and got the party started! Their guests enjoyed cocktail hour by the pool and then they moved down to the beautiful reception site, adorned in market lights and overlooking the canyons.
Anne Taylor and her staff did an excellent job (as always) filling our hungry stomachs with such great food. This is Anne herself, as usual, right at the front of the buffet catering to the guests and making sure everything looks perfect. If you don’t have a caterer yet, you need to call her! I trust her so much, I got my mom to hire her for her own wedding in just a couple of weeks, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience.
How pretty is this cake by Creme De La Creme Bakery?! I love how their names are drawn in like they were etched into bark on a tree – so perfect for high school sweethearts!
After cake they danced the night away! Hannah’s mom in particular got her party on, and it was awesome seeing her have so much fun after helping Hannah so much with the planning! You all deserved it! Alan from 5 Star Mobile DJ kept the party alive all night and even jumped on the floor a few times to lead everyone into The Wobble, my fave.
You guys know how to throw a great party!! Thank you for having me, for your kindness and for all of the fun you were throughout the process! Hannah, your constant adventurous spirit and willingness to climb up any rock for a good photo will always be something I remember about our time working together. I hope you two stay in touch, and have the best honeymoon ever!
