Kelvin and Jamie had such a stunning wedding day at The Ebell Club of Long Beach, and it warmed my heart that they asked me to be there for an event that held so much meaning in their life. The classic and romantic elegance that Jamie hand chose to incorporate into her wedding theme made my job so enjoyable. However, looking beyond the details and prettiness, their hearts are full of kindness, thoughtfulness, and love. Getting to know the two of them has been a blessing, and it makes me so happy to say that we still remain in touch and are already planning future fun-filled photo sessions for next year! Even my fiancé loves them after being able to help me with their beautiful night engagement session in Los Angeles.

Mr. and Mrs. Simmons, thank you so much for being such a special part of my life and for allowing me to do the same in yours! I love the friendship we’ve grown in the last year, and I couldn’t be happier to call you two friends.

Jamie’s dress by Alfred Angelo was one of my absolute favorites. The soft, iridescent satin gave a classic beauty, and the beautiful detailed beadwork in her lace jacket added just the right amount of character.

“Kelvins favorite part about our venue is the balcony and how I made my entrance into the room. I walked above the guests and Kelvin wasn’t able to see me, but he could see the expression from all of our loved ones.”

After the ceremony, Kelvin had a special surprise for Jamie. She was nervous to see what he was going to do! He comes out wearing a different suit jacket – BRIGHT RED! She couldn’t stop laughing. It’s always such a treat when the groom saves something special to surprise his bride.

“The detail that I am most proud of is our signature “S”. Instead of a traditional guest book we had a 3ft S for our guests to sign and leave a note if they’d like. This will be placed in a shadow box and hung once we purchase our first home.”

From the Bride…

Our Love Story

Kelvin and I met on the first day of high school. It may sound cliche, but we are truly “high school sweethearts!” I was actually the one to pursue him. We had a mutual friend, and as we were leaving school, she stopped to talk to him. I thought he was handsome so I decided to write him a letter and give him my number. He never called me! One day he stopped me as we were walking to class and gave me his number. Of course I called him, and I’ve been in love with him ever since!

November 2003 Kelvin moved to Virginia but we still kept in contact. He came back to live in California in May 2005. That was when we realized that we went to the same church, which was where we saw each other for the first time after he moved home. I guess you can say this is a union truly put together by God.

I was finally of age to have a boyfriend so Kelvin and I would spend time together after church. He was my only boyfriend, and I have been his only girlfriend that both sets of parents have met. On August 14, 2005 he asked me to be his girlfriend and we’ve been together ever since!

Our Special Day

Kelvin and I have been planning our wedding since we were 14 years old. I’ve always wanted a wedding that was classic and romantic. I never wanted to look back and regret a decision I made, because we followed the current wedding trend. The only request Kelvin had was to incorporate his favorite color into the event, which is red. What better month to have a wedding that had to have red and romance than in February? A lot of special events in our lives coincidentally have the number 14 in the date, so we had to get married in the year 2014!

I found the venue two years before kelvin even proposed. As soon as I saw the venue online I knew it was perfect for the classic romantic theme we were going for. The next day after we got engaged, we went to see the venue, and we were in love. The venue was ideal because it offered three different rooms that displays romantic elegance throughout. Kelvins favorite part about our venue is the balcony and how I made my entrance into the room. I walked above the guests and Kelvin wasn’t able to see me, but he could see the expression from all of our loved ones.

Having roses as our main flower was extremely important. White roses mean purity, youthfulness, and reverence. Red roses mean love, respect, and passion. I believe all of those words describe the relationship that Kelvin and I have. The detail that I am most proud of is our signature “S”. Instead of a traditional guest book we had a 3ft S for our guests to sign and leave a note if they’d like. This will be placed in a shadow box and hung once we purchase our first home.

Kelvin and I both believe our wedding day was magical and it definitely set the tone for us to live Happily Ever After!
